N Scale Modular - Warsash Wye

Warsash Wye, also known as "James' Trestle" is a 5' module which extends below the "normal" ground level of the layout to allow depth to the canyon that the bridges were required to cross. It took about 18 month to build and all the timbers that make up the structure were individually cut from a single block of balsa wood, stained and assembled!

From this angle the VIA Rail express crossing it obscures the diverging route which enters a tunnel in the mountain side that gives the trestle the "wye" in its name.
